Hours of work 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Reports to President of company

The main functions are:

  1. Booking calendar and client appointments
  2. Answering calls and taking messages
  3. Keeping track of the service calls and bookings
  4. Processing daily incoming and outgoing mail
  5. Book Keeping (training will be provided.)
  6. Ordering supplies, equipment and parts as necessary
  7. Handling all required correspondence and providing reports for President
  8. Performing various filing and organizational tasks for President
  9. Accounts receivable billing and receipts report
  10. Ensuring office area is secure and tidy
  11. Excellent dictation and writing skills
  12. Performing other duties required by the President

Senior Technical Administrator

PolarData is looking for an experienced Network Administrator with 5 years administration experience in the industry. You would operate as part of a team providing ongoing consulting and technical support on site to professional businesses. You would be responsible for desktop and server administration; providing detailed reports, planning and documentation for clients.

You should have excellent troubleshooting skills, resourcefulness, tremendous patience and extensive experience with hardware and software trouble shooting.

The successful candidate must have a vehicle as well as experience and a strong understanding of the following:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • Microsoft Exchange 2003
  • Windows XP Pro
  • Windows 2000 Pro
  • Network Architecture/Design
  • Server Architecture/Design/Hardware/Software
  • Experience in building and trouble shooting computers and network devices
  • Knowledge of Clone PCs and brand name servers
  • Virus removal
  • Tape backup Systems
  • SAN Systems
  • Knowledge of information security including experience with Router Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, VPN, IPSec, Antivirus, Anti-Spam

Certifications and designations are an asset. (MCSE or MCSA, A+, CCNA or equivalent experience)

This will be a full time position with the salary negotiated at the time of hiring. Experience will be considered.
